Fillers

Instant Age-Defying Rejuvenation

Dermal fillers are ideal for addressing concerns from the cheekbones downward. They correct asymmetries and volume loss in the lower face caused by factors such as gravity, hormonal changes, sun damage, and smoking. Whether temporary or semi-permanent, dermal fillers offer immediate and noticeable results.

Botulinum Toxin
Type A

The Popular Choice for Anti-Aging

Botulinum Toxin Type A is the most widely used anti-aging treatment globally. In 2012 alone, over 4 million treatments were performed in the US.

What is it?

Commonly known as Botox, Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTXA) is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, first discovered in 1895. There are three main products on the market:

  1. BOTOX (Onabotulinum Toxin Type A) by Allergan
  2. Xeomin (IncoBotulinum Toxin A) by Merz
  3. Dysport (Abobotulinum Toxin A) by Valeant

Though all are derived from the same bacterium, their manufacturing processes lead to slight differences. Despite these differences, they all work by blocking a neurotransmitter that muscles need to contract, leading to muscle relaxation. This effect is temporary, typically lasting 3-4 months. After this period, muscle movement will resume, and your appearance will return to its previous state.

Types of Treatments

  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Brow lift
  • Peri oral line
  • Corners of the mouth

Additionally, BTXA can treat excessive sweating, particularly in the underarms, with results lasting up to 10 months.

What to Expect

Risks and Side Effects:

Serious complications from BTXA are rare. Common, temporary side effects include swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection sites. Occasionally, patients may experience eyelid droop (ptosis), which can be managed with drops and is also temporary.

Results Timeline:

You might see initial results within 2 days, with full effects appearing in up to 14 days. Results generally last 3-4 months, but repeated treatments can extend the duration.

During Treatment:

The entire procedure, including consultation, typically takes less than 30 minutes. The injections, administered with fine needles, are quick and usually painless. No special preparation is needed.

After Treatment:

Post-treatment, mild redness and swelling may occur, and bruising is possible. Within 30 minutes, most people will not notice you’ve had the treatment. You may apply makeup on the treated areas if desired. For optimal results, exercise the treated muscles for about 10 minutes post-injection and avoid touching or rubbing the area for 4 hours. It’s best to avoid strenuous exercise on the day of the treatment.
